Azaperone-Azaperol ELISA
Cat. No.: 5841AZA
Azaperone is a butyrophenone neuroleptic drug with sedative and antiemetic effects. In veterinary medicine, the drug is most commonly used in anti-aggressiveness, stress, sedation and anesthesia in pigs. Use in horses is avoided as adverse reactions may occur. The main biotransformation product of azaperone is azaperole. In the EU, an MRL for azaperone residues in kidney, liver, muscle and fat has been established.
The azaperone-azaperol ELISA is used for the quantitative analysis of azaperol and azaperone in tissue (muscle, liver, kidney) and urine samples. The calibration curve is virtually linear in the range of 0.05 to 2 ng/ml. The kit uses a polyclonal rabbit antibody which shows the following cross-reactivities: azaperone (100%) and azaperol (100%).
Detailed information of this ELISA is given in the Product Information Sheet.
