Ethynylestradiol ELISA
Cat. No.: 5841ESTR
Ethinyl estradiol is a semisynthetic alkylated estradiol with a 17-alpha-ethinyl substitution. It has high estrogenic potency when administered orally, and is often used as the estrogenic component in oral contraceptives. It is absorbed in the small intestine and reaches a serum peak about 2 hours later. It undergoes extensive metabolism in the liver and is excreted with the bile.
The ethynylestradiol ELISA is used for the quantitative analysis of ethynylestradiol in cattle urine or tissue samples (muscle). The calibration curve is virtually linear in the range of 0.02 to 1 ng/ml. The kit uses a polyclonal rabbit antibody which shows the following cross-reactivities: ethynylestradiol (100%), norethindrolone (90%), norethandrolone (46%), 17β-estradiol (0.4%), diethylstilbestrol (<0.01%), and estrone (<0.01%).
Detailed information of this ELISA is given in the Product Information Sheet.
