Cat. No.: 5841CARA
Carazolol is a non-specific β-adrenergic receptor blocking agent to reduce stress in animals during transportation. In veterinary medicine, carazolol given by intramuscular injection to pigs is indicated in stress-inducing situations. In cattle, the substance is intended to be used for the prevention of shipment stress caused by transportation and formation of new herds. Community MRLs for kidney, liver, milk and muscle have been set.
The carazolol ELISA is used for the quantitative analysis of carazolol in cattle muscle, liver and kidney.
The calibration curve is virtually linear in the range of 0.1 to 5 ng/ml. The kit uses a polyclonal rabbit antibody which shows the following cross-reactivities: carazolol (100%), clenbuterol (<0.02%), salbutamol (<0.02%), adrenaline (<0.02%), epinephrine (<0.02%) and alprenolone (<0.02%).
Detailed information of this ELISA is given in the Product Information Sheet.
