In Aminoglycosides:

Streptomycin ELISA

Cat. No.: 5111STREP

Levels of Streptomycin, an aminoglycoside, have to be monitored in foods. EuroProxima designed a competitive enzyme immunoassay method for the detection of Streptomycin in honey, milk and tissue samples. The antiserum present in the kit shows a high cross-reactivity towards streptomycin (100%) and its major metabolite dihydroxystreptomycin (100%). The antiserum does not have any cross-reactivities towards other aminoglycosides (gentamicin, neomycin, kanamycin, sisomycin, tobramycin and amikazin). The dose-response curve shows a measuring range of 0.3-20 ng/ml. Defatted and diluted milk samples can be tested directly with a detection limit for streptomycin and dihydroxystreptomycin of approximately 4 ng/ml. For honey samples detection limits of 6 ng/g (after dilution in buffer) and 3 ng/g (after solid phase extraction) were found.
